I know Im old enough to have a new driver’s license.  But for me, I feel excited about it. I have been working in cruise ships for long that this year was my only time to study driving and to get a driver’s license.  So I enrolled in Smart Driving School near my place, and I was so excited to be a student driver for 1 week.  The instructors in Smart Driving School are all patient and supportive.  I am glad I have been properly schooled in driving because I learned all the traffic signs and traffic rules and violations.  And I have been trained how to be a defensive responsible driver.  The school also offerred assistance when I took my driver’s license, when I had my driver’s exam and my actual driving test.

Student’s Permit Requirements In Philippines
1. Duly accomplished Application for Driver’s License
2. NSO authenticated Birth Certificate with photocopy
- Original valid Passport with photocopy
3. Any legal or government issued document to prove his age and identity (SSS ID, PhilHealth ID, GSIS ID, TIN ID, Pag-ibig ID, Office ID)

Additional Requirements for Minor Applicants (16-18 yrs. old)
1. Letter of Parental/Guardian Consent duly notarized

Requirements for Non- Professional Driver’s License in Philippines :
Must be 17 years old.
1. Duly accomplished Application for Driver’s License.
2. Valid Student Permit (at least one (1) month old)
3. Medical Certificate (from an LTO accredited or Government Physician) or valid AFP/PNP organic personnel ID
4. Negative Drug Test result (from DOH accredited drug testing center)
5. Taxpayer’s Identification Number (TIN).
6. Must have passed the written and practical examination.
