CashFlow 101 is an educational board game that teaches you the basics of fundamental investing and how to take control of your personal finances, build a business through proper cash flow management, and learn how to invest with greater confidence in real estate and other businesses. CashFlow 101 was created for the sole purpose of teaching financial literacy, be a master of money and elevate the people’s financial IQ. It was invented by best selling author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, Robert Kiyosaki.

During the game, you can invest in stock market, buy properties, trade, be a broker, and lend at the bank using paper money. Anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of money is an extremely simple and fun way.

There are two stages to the game. In the first, “the rat race”, the player aims to raise his or her character’s passive income level to where it exceeds the character’s expenses. The winner is determined in the second stage, “the fast track”. To win, a player must get his or her character to buy their “dream” or accumulate an additional $50,000 in monthly cash flow.

In place of “score cards”, there are financial statements. The game requires the players to fill out their own financial statements so that they can see more clearly what is happening with their money. It generally shows how assets generate income and demonstrates that liabilities and ‘doodads’ are expenses.

I attended the Think Rich Pinoy last August 16, 2008 and I enjoyed the CashFlow 101 game. I played the role of Airline Pilot, so I have bigger salary but then I’m scared to take risks in investing and I had a baby during the game, and I had lots of doodads or expenses. So I wasnt able to get out of the rat race. But it is a very good game, I can apply what I have learned from it in real life.
